| Day 12 - May 31, 2008 - Fairbanks, first day. For today, not much was scheduled until the afternoon. The weather was great, 71F, so we had a late breakfast outside. In the afternoon, we had booked an excursion to the El Dorado Gold mine. This was a demonstration of how in the good old days mining was done. These 2 hours were very well spent and we had an hands-on gold pan session as well. Also, the (free !) coffee and fresh cookies in the gift shop were great. If you can, you should go there as well, very entertaining!
