Day 17 - June 5, 2008 - Valdez

Via the reception of the Eagle's Rest RV park we had booked a Cruise on the Prince William Sound.
The weather was not too good (low clouds and a light rain), but (maybe due to the weather), the number of passengers on the boat was very limited, so plenty of space for all of us.
Most people did not even bother to go outside (sheltered by a roof), so no problems taking pictures here.

From the ship, you could see how these big Oil Tankers get filled with Alaska crude oil.
We witnessed the departure of a full oil tanker (1 million of barrels at 130 us $ each makes the value of the cargo 130 million dollars!) and the arrival of an empty tanker.

During the trip, we have spotted various Humpback Whales, Dolphins, Bald Eagles, Sea lions and much more.

When we got closer to the Columbia Glacier (26 miles is how close you can get), there was a lot of Glacier Ice floating in the sea.

The cruise company, Stan Stephens Glacier & Wildlife Cruises, did all they could to give us a real interesting day. A big Well Done for them.

On our way back, we passed a bald Eagle on a short distance.
