Day 18 - June 6, 2008 - Valdez to Palmer

After a full day and night of rain, we left Valdez to go to Palmer, close to Anchorage.
Via the Thompson Pass and the Richardson Highway, we proceeded to Glennallen. On our way, we had various views of the Trans Alaska Pipeline.
In Glennallen, we stopped for a quick fuel re-fill. We loaded enough fuel to get to Palmer, where (as we had found out) fuel prices are much lower.

The last part of the trip took us to the Matanuska Glacier. This time, we could drive close to the Glacier and made a short hike to and on the Glacier.
This was very impressive; now it becomes clear how much ice is involved.

In Palmer, we selected Mt View RV Park. This was a real nice (Good Sam Club) and quiet RV park with a nice view.
