| Day 4 - May 23, 2008 - Kenai to Homer. After an early wake up , caused by the rain, we left Kenai and headed for Homer. Just after 1 hour travel, we spotted our first moose. The first stop of the day was in Ninilchik, an old Russian settlement in Alaska. There was an old Russian church on top of the hill. This church was in the middle of a graveyard and overlooked the ocean. When we left the location of the church, there was another moose beside the road. We had a good Kodak moment there. At arrival time in Homer, the end of the world, we had not decided what RV park to use for our 2 day stay. It was Memorial Day weekend, and the first day of the "summer season", so what could we expect? First, we tried to go to an RV park at the world famous Homer Spit. The RV Park looked great, bus was very expensive, 2 times as much as we had paid for our previous RV parks. Also, as there was a lot of wind at that time, it looked like a sandstorm on the whole section of Homer Spit. So, we decided to turn around and selected the Oceanview RV Park, overlooking the Kachemak Bay.
